General

What is e3 Cloud Object Storage?
e3 is a Canadian S3-compatible object storage platform designed for backups, archives, and application data. You get standard S3 semantics (buckets, access keys, API compatibility) with predictable pricing, strong data protection, and Canadian data residency by default.
Who is e3 Cloud Storage designed for?
e3 is built for MSPs, SaaS providers, and in-house IT teams that need reliable offsite storage. Use it as a backup target, for application data, or as the storage layer behind services you deliver to your own customers.

Pricing and billing

How much does e3 cost, and what is the minimum monthly commitment?
e3 is $9.00 CAD per TiB per month after a 1 TiB minimum. Storage above that minimum is billed per GiB at the same $9.00 CAD per TiB rate. Workloads of 50 TiB and larger are custom quotes. The pricing lab models a specific volume.
Do you charge for data egress or API requests?
Inbound transfer and API requests are free. Free egress is included up to 3× your monthly storage. Additional egress is CA$0.01 per GiB.
How am I billed each month?
Billing is monthly in CAD, based on stored capacity, plus any egress above the included allowance. Free egress covers up to 3× monthly storage, then CA$0.01 per GiB. Use the pricing lab to model expected costs.

Data residency and compliance

Where is my data stored when I use e3?
All e3 object data is stored in Ottawa, Ontario, and operated by a Canadian company. That keeps backup and archive objects aligned with Canadian data residency requirements.
Is e3 suitable for regulated or sensitive data?
Yes. e3 is designed for regulated and high-sensitivity workloads. eazyBackup is registered under Canada’s Controlled Goods Program and operates e3 object storage in Canada. e3 supports Canadian privacy requirements such as PIPEDA, and is used where health information and other regulated data must stay protected. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, with access controls and audit-friendly logging.

Performance, durability, and availability

Is e3 hot storage or archive storage?
e3 is always-hot object storage. Your data is immediately accessible for restores, downloads, or application reads without archive retrieval delays.
How does e3 keep my data durable and available?
Data is stored across multiple drives and servers with isolation between failure domains, delivering durability and availability expected from modern object storage.
Can e3 help protect backups against ransomware?
Yes. e3 supports S3 Object Lock and WORM-style immutability so protected data cannot be altered or deleted within your retention policy.

Integrations and use cases

Which tools and backup software can I use with e3?
Any software that supports S3-compatible object storage can usually work with e3 by pointing it at our endpoint and using your bucket and access keys.
Can I use e3 with self-hosted platforms like Nextcloud?
Yes. Platforms like Nextcloud support external S3-compatible storage. Point them at the e3 endpoint, specify your bucket, and use your e3 access keys.

Multi-tenant accounts and access control

Can I create separate buckets and credentials for each client or project?
Yes. e3 supports a multi-tenant model with primary users, sub-users, and per-bucket access control. Provision separate users, buckets, and API keys for each customer, team, or application.
What’s the difference between users and sub-users?
A primary user owns buckets and manages keys, and can create sub-users. Sub-users have scoped permissions (read-only, write, or full) for buckets they are granted access to.
Can I create bucket policies to restrict actions?
Yes. e3 supports JSON-based bucket policies that allow or deny specific actions (uploads, downloads, listing) for particular users or sub-users on a given bucket.

Getting started and support

How do I get started with e3 Cloud Storage?
Create a 14-day free trial from the e3 product page. You get the full dashboard so you can test storage, performance, and integrations with your own workloads. Log in, create your first bucket, and generate access keys. The getting started guide is at https://docs.eazybackup.com/e3-object-storage/how-to-use-an-e3-storage-bucket-with-eazybackup. Use the e3 endpoint, bucket name, and access keys in any S3-compatible backup tool. Technical and sales support is available by phone at 1-888-969-2016.
Can you help me move data from another provider?
Yes. We can share guidance and best practices for moving data from providers such as AWS S3, Wasabi, or Backblaze B2, or from an existing backup setup.
